Trick your kiddos into eating some fruits and veggies in this fun and healthier Halloween recipe! These Candy Corn Layered Smoothies look like the popular Halloween candy and taste like the tropics!
I have always lived a healthy and balanced life. This has included a healthy balance of work and play, between being active and having lazy afternoons, and eating balanced meals with some delicious treats thrown in.
But, since becoming a food blogger, and specifically in the past few years as I have built my own business, I have found it harder and harder to find that balance. Since I am a one-woman show, balancing social media, deadlines, meetings, classes, creating content, etc. it can be hard to “do it all”. Not only has it been hard to find enough time to work out on a regular basis, but hard to find enough time to do all the other things I love too.
Fortunately, despite the struggles of adjusting to new routines and being a small business owner, I am still able to, for the most part, follow the 80/20 rule when it comes to eating balanced meals. This “guideline” is where I believe in eating healthy balanced meals 80% of the time and the other 20% of the time not feeling bad about enjoying a few indulgences.
However, the holidays, whether you are a food blogger and recipe developer or not, can sneak up on you and it can be hard to find that balance. Especially since this time of year is typically filled with over indulgence and is even more hectic than normal.
That’s why I try to mix up my holiday themed posts with a variety of recipes, some over the top and others still festive but not quite as indulgent. Yes, it’s true, you can have a cute or fun and festive holiday treat while still maintaining that balance.
Today’s recipe, Candy Corn Layered Smoothies is not only a lot of fun to make, it is extremely festive and a healthier treat too! This smoothie recipe is not only cute, but full of tricks (since they are packed with protein, fruits and vegetables) all while enjoying a Halloween treat! In fact, these Candy Corn Layered Smoothies is one way to have candy corn for breakfast, whether you’re a kid or kid at heart (like me!) and it totally be ok! 😉
