Oreo Peanut Butter S’mores

March 25, 2014

Happy Birthday to Kitchen Concoctions!

March marks the five year anniversary of when I first started Kitchen Concoctions. Five years ago I decided I needed this little blog in my life and I am so glad that all those years ago I decided to press ‘publish.’

This little blog of mine, and all of you who actually read and follow it, means the world to me! It is the place where I share my personal thoughts, a few rants and some really great recipes!

It is the place where I am free to be me!

Through this blog I have had the opportunity to meet lots of amazing people (in real life and virtually), explore new places, try new things, push myself to new heights and follow my dreams!

I love this little blog of mine and I am so grateful for all of you, my friends!

To celebrate this monumental event in my life and the life of my blog, I decided go back to one of the blog features I used to do (it has been way to long) and have a special theme week.

Of course since I am obsessed with S’mores and since this is my blog, I thought it a S’mores week, a week filled with S’mores inspired recipes, was THE perfect way to celebrate my blog birthday!

And be sure to check back next Monday, my “official” blog birthday, for a sweet giveaway!

The first S’mores recipe of the week is a twist on my favorite flavor combination, chocolate and peanut butter. I have to admit, I am one of those girls who love to dip their Oreos in peanut butter, and that obsession is what fueled this fabulous spin on my favorite treat!

Go ahead… drool a little then make this crazy S’mores concoction!

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 5 minutes Yields: 4 s’mores

Popular flavor combinations, chocolate and peanut butter, come together in a twist on a favorite campfire treat!

4 Oreo cookies
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
4 (1-ounce) pieces milk chocolate bar
4 large marshmallows
4 roasting sticks

Carefully twist Oreos to separate. Place one square of chocolate on top of Oreo cream. On plain side of Oreo cookie, smear ½ tablespoon peanut butter. Set aside.

Thread marshmallow onto the end of roasting stick and roast over camp fire or under oven broiler until marshmallow is toasted and begins to turn golden brown.

Place toasted marshmallow on top of chocolate bar topped Oreo cream/cookie. Top toasted marshmallow with remaining peanut butter topped Oreo cookie. Gently press until marshmallow begins to ooze out the sides and chocolate begins to melt. Serve immediately.

Repeat until ooey, gooey s’mores satisfaction is achieved!

Note: Marshmallows can be microwaved for 8 to 10 seconds, or until puffed.
