Lemon Berry Sangria and Virgin Lemon Berry Sangria

May 23, 2014

I love summer!

I used to say that fall was my favorite season; but as I have gotten older I am trying to fully embrace life, live in the moment and seize the day! So if I am shouting proclamations to the world, I guess it should be: I love ALL seasons!

I love each season for different reasons. The change in the weather…. whether it be hot summer days to the cooler, windy days of fall; or from the bitter cold winters to longer, breezy spring nights.

And I love the different traditions we have each season. From pumpkin picking and carving in the fall, to decorating our Christmas tree, to frolicking in a field of Texas Bluebonnets in the spring.

Summer is no exception!

I think I especially love summer because all the fun activities last for several months.

From movies and concerts in the park, to camping, to lazy days by the pool…. bring on the summer fun!

To me, there couldn’t be enough backyard cookouts with friends and family or lazy days by the pool! And just like the mixing and mingling and laid back attitude on these days; the food that is served is what summer is all about!

I couldn’t make it through these warm summer nights without a fun drink! I’m telling you, today’s recipe for Lemon Berry Sangria IS going to be the drink of the summer! Tart lemonade is infused with fresh summer berries for a slightly sweet and refreshing drink that tastes like summer!

And because I want everyone to enjoy this drink all summer long, I have included a non-alcoholic version. Serve either variety (or both) at your next summer gathering!

Two Years Ago: Spinach and Pear Salad with Dijon Mustard Vinaigrette
Three Years Ago: Peach Pie Fruit Salad
Four Years Ago: Hoppin’ John Salad
Five Years Ago: Tomato Bruschetta Chicken
